Dr. Jackeline Biddle Richard began her nursing career as an intensive care (ICU) nurse and worked in the ICU at various Level I trauma centers in New Jersey. She transitioned  into  higher education after serving as a manager of clinical education and practice for a healthcare system in New Jersey.

 In higher education, she most recently served as a dean of nursing for an LVN program in Texas. Prior to that she was an associate dean of nursing and assistant professor for a baccalaureate nursing program in New Jersey. She has also taught online, in the skills lab/ simulation and for ADN, accelerated BSN, MSN and Doctor in Nursing Practice (DNP) nursing programs.

 Additionally, she developed and taught a course titled Legal Issues in Healthcare for a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) program and mentored DNP candidates in a DNP Chair capacity. She holds a certification as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), has been published and has served as a speaker and subject matter expert on nursing & law topics.  

 As an attorney, she was an associate in a medical malpractice firm prior to opening her own law firm where she focused primarily on criminal law, personal injury and nursing liability.

 Professionally, she is a board of director member of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) where she also serves on their Policy Committee and Scholarship and Awards Committee.  Dr. Biddle Richard is also the Texas chapter president-elect for The American Association of Nurse Attorneys (TANNA), is licensed (inactive) to practice law in New Jersey and New York, is licensed as a registered nurse in Texas and maintains memberships in various nursing and legal organizations.  

 In the community, Dr. Biddle Richard, notably in 2006, was the first Latino and Black woman to be appointed to the City Council in Long Branch, New Jersey.  She has been the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions in New Jersey including the Distinguished Alumni Award from Brookdale Community College.  Since moving to Texas, she has been actively involved in volunteering with the Junior League of El Paso (JLEP).

 Presently, Dr. Biddle Richard is a higher education consultant. She is a proud graduate of Brookdale Community College, Monmouth University, Rutgers, The New Jersey State University School of Law- Newark and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ/ Rutgers).  For fun, she enjoys spending time with her Chihuahua and Puggle, Latin dancing, reading, the Arts and as of recent, Zoom happy hours with friends and family.
