2013 NAHN SPECIAL AWARDS

Recognizing Education, Community Service, and Leadership

New DEADLINE: June 18, 2013

The National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN) established the Ildaura Murillo-Rohde Award for Education Excellence, the Henrietta Villaescusa Community Service Award, the Janie Menchaca Wilson Leadership Award, and the Sarah Gomez Erlach Humanitarian Award to honor and provide special recognition to Hispanic nurses.

These Special Awards honor NAHN members for their demonstrated excellence in nursing education, community service and for their spirit and dedication in serving the Hispanic community.

Special awards are an opportunity for NAHN members to be recognized and celebrated for their extraordinary achievements within the discipline of nursing.

The 2013 NAHN Special Awards will be presented at the 2013 Annual NAHN Conference Awards Gala.


Instructions for nominating Hispanic nurses for the Education Excellence, Community Service, Leadership, and Humanitarian Awards:

    • Nominations Forms may be photocopied for multiple nominations.
    • Submitted nomination packets become the property of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN).
    • Hispanic Nurses nominated for a Special Award must be a member of NAHN for at least five (5) consecutive years.
    • Nominations may be self nominated or made by colleagues, clients, administrators, or co-workers
    • Letters of reference must be 300 words or less and illustrate the nominee’s qualifications and accomplishments.
    • Qualified nominees may be the recipient of a particular Special Award only once (any individual who has received previous recognition by NAHN for a Special Award is not eligible to be nominated a second time for that same Award (  ( any individual who has received previous recognition by NAHN for a Special Award is not eligible for the same award but may be nominated for other special NAHN awards).Nominee is to submit a current resume or curriculum vitae.
